Evergreens are trees and shrubs that do not lose their leaves or needles at the end of their growing season. The leaves or needles stay the same color throughout the year.
Though the terms are often used together, all evergreens are not necessarily conifers, and vice versa. For example, eucalyptus is an evergreen that does not bear cones, while larch is a deciduous conifer.
Examples include : pines, firs, spruces, junipers, eucalyptus, and arborvitae, among many more.
