Calamondin is a cross between a sour Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) and a kumquat (Fortunella marginata).

Latin Name: X Citrofortunella Microcarpa. Also X Citrofortunella mitis

Other names: Acid orange, calamondin orange, Panama orange,golden lime, scarlet lime

Preferred Zones: Zones 9-11

Size: Calamondin grows, on average, to be 6-15' tall and 4-8' wide.

Exposure: Full sun

Soil: Calamondin should be grown in well draining soil. It can grow in a wide variety of soil types.

Notes: Not tolerant of freezing conditions, or wind. Drought tolerant once established, but especially needs water during fruiting for proper formation.
