The Fiskars 12' Pruning Stik is a lightweight, ropeless tree pruner. The rotating cutting head has a 1 1/4" capacity. I found that it cut through branches with ease and would highly recommend it.

Guide Review - Fiskars Pruning Stik - Tree Pruner

A friend had a dead tree in his yard that needed to be removed. I decided to test out the Fiskars 12' Pruning Stik on some of the lower branches.

I really like how lightweight this is. I am only 5'4", so tree pruners can be a bit harder to control if they are heavier and fully extended. I had no problems with the Fiskars 12' Pruning Stik. On the flip side, it does make it slightly more wobbly when it is fully extended, but it is naturally a bit more difficult the longer it is.

The Fiskars 12' Pruning Stik is very easy to use. The cutting head has a 1 1/4" capacity. I just positioned a branch between the blades, pulled on the handle and snap! It cut through through the branch very easily. If you need to try a different angle to properly make your cuts, you can flip a lever and the cutting head will rotate downward.

For the branches that are bigger than 1 1/4", you can attach a saw blade after rotating the head down. The blade was sharp and cut through swiftly.

I would highly recommend the Fiskars 12' Pruning Stik. It is very light and easy to use, with the added bonus of no ropes.
