Mystery Monday 110512 Shrub

The winner for last week's shrub was Jomo. It is the harlequin glorybower (Clerodendrum trichotomum. Congrats! According to my research, Sukhmandir, the berries are not edible. However, you can eat the leaves evidently.

  • This shrub comes from California, Arizona and Mexico.
  • It is the only species in its family.
  • There is liquid wax in the seeds that is removed and used in many beauty products and fragrances. The chemical makeup is much like that of our own sebum.

Can you name this week's mystery shrub? Good luck!
