What's Your Favorite Tree?
If you asked me what my favorite tree was, the answer would change every day. I usually have trouble coming up with a single one. Every time I pass a weeping birch, I am in awe and heartily declare it my favorite tree. For fruit, nectarine wins every time. If I am homesick, I dream of palms, eucalyptus, and jacaranda. Yes, there are too many I love for me to name just one.
As I add tree profiles to this site, I would love to start with your favorites. Whether it's magnolias, maples or mimosas, let me know what your favorite tree(s) are.

My favorite is the Great Basin Bristlecone Pine- Pinus longaeva. I fell in love with this tree hiking in the high country of Great Basin National Park in Nevada. Truly a unique tree. You can get Bristlecones at some nursuries, but I have only been able to find the other species (P. aristata) which doesn’t have needles that are quite as soft and friendly. Of course they just don’t live as long at lower elevations.
I kinda like white oak.
For fruit trees I would have to say cherry.
